It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gillian Lowe on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the age of 45.

Gillian was born in Columbia, SC, where she was a graduate of Spring Valley High School and also attended Winthrop University. With her infectious personality and radiant smile, her presence immediately energized the room. Gillian shined brighter than the brightest star.

Gillian will be lovingly remembered by her father, Jack Lowe; her mother and best-friend, Cynthia Lowe; and her fiancé, Dr. Rob Varghese. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her grandmother Eva Lowe (Age 99); uncle, Bill (Susan) Lowe; cousins, Mark (Dana) Lowe and Chris Lowe, all of Spartanburg; uncle, Billy (Penny) O'Shields; cousins, Deidra (Jason) Foster, Caleb (Hollie) O'Shields; her young cousins who referred to her as "Aunt Gill", Anne Marie and Will O'Shields and Logan and Ada Foster, all of Spartanburg. Gillian was an avid animal lover and is survived by her beloved pets, Chloe and Bosley.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 21, 2018, from 2:30-4:30, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
