Gladys Wingard Cross, 89, of Blythewood, died Monday, March 4, 2013. Born in Woodford, SC on January 4, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Elouise Crim Wingard. Gladys was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, George C. Cross; daughter, Jenifer Steller of Spartanburg; son, Carlton E. Jeffcoat, Jr. of Waterford, VA; brother, Nelson Wingard of Neeses, SC; granddaughters, Shea Dent (Matt) and Ansley Somers, all of Spartanburg and Carlon Steller of Greenville; and great grandson, Brandon Somers. In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her first husband, Carlton E. Jeffcoat, Sr.; four brothers and one sister.

A memorial service for Mrs. Cross will be held 10 o'clock, Friday, March 8th, at Shives Funeral Home, 5202 Colonial Dr, Columbia, with The Rev. Dr. Cathy Jamieson-Ogg officiating. The inurnment will follow at Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 9 o'clock.
