Obituary

Gladys Louise Stancil Wofford, 87, of Blythewood, died peacefully at home surrounded by family, Sunday, September 1, 2013. Born in Mountain City, GA on March 24, 1926 she was the daughter of the late Joseph Otto Stancil and Martha Love Stancil. She was a member of Sandy Level Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 71 years, Homer A. Wofford; son, Herb W. (Billie) Wofford; daughter, Kathy D. (Jim) Wollgast; grandsons, Christopher Michael (Alice) Wofford, Thomas Scott (Tiffany) Wofford, and AJ Wollgast; great-grandchildren, Harrison Wayne Wofford, Donovan Shane Wofford, Olivia Annelle Wofford, and Laura Campbell Wofford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Homer A. "Tony" Wofford; as well as ten brothers and sisters.

A graveside service for Mrs. Wofford will be held at 3:30 pm, Wednesday, September 4th at Sandy Level Baptist Church, 408 Blythewood Road, with The Rev. Dr. E. Benjamin Newman and The Rev. Stephen Gantt officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2 o'clock in the Fellowship Hall. Memorials may be made to the Columbia Metro Baptist Association, Prison Ministry, 1929 Gadsden Street, Columbia, SC 29201 or Sandy Level Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 518, Blythewood, SC 29016.
