Gladys Branham Stout, 76, of Ridgeway, died Friday, March 25, 2016. Born in Fairfield County on February 15, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence Leroy Branham and Dorothy Mae Dove Branham. Gladys was the former town clerk of Ridgeway, retired from DuPont, and was an active member of the Ridgeway Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in the Relief Society. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, James "Jimmy" Stout; children, Lisa Glisson (Keith), Jennifer Fowler (Rodney), and Daryl Stout (Jennifer); grandchildren, Allen, Brooke, Blake, Casey, Katelynn, Zachary, Madalyn, Savannah, and Jacob; one great-grandchild, expected in May; and sister, Carolyn B. Moore. In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Branham.
A funeral service for Mrs. Stout will be held 1 o'clock, Monday, March 28th, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1391 Centerville Road, Ridgeway, SC with First Counselor Ryan Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Centerville Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at noon in the Relief Society Room. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
