Glenda Gissendanner, 65, of Winnsboro, was born October 9, 1948 in Columbia, to Sally Gissendanner and the late George W. Gissendanner. She went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, July 7, 2014. Glenda grew up in the Eau Claire area of Columbia and graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1966. She retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs after 33 years of service. During her retirement, she was very active in her church, serving on various committees, as church clerk and as WMU director. Glenda loved to cook and read. She was a very caring and inspirational person.

Survivors include her mother of Winnsboro; special friend and care-taker, Ms. Sheri Spigner; and her uncles, Donald and Vernon Gissendanner, both of Columbia.

The funeral service Ms. Gissendanner will be held 11 o'clock, Friday, July 11th, at Washington Street Baptist Church, 401 N Vanderhorst St, Winnsboro, with The Rev. DeWitt Atkerson officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Columbia. The family will receive friends at the church, prior to the service, beginning at 10 o'clock.
