Glenn Matthew Elkins, 91, of Columbia, SC, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. Born on April 13, 1934, in Columbia, SC, to the late Joe C. Elkins and Agnes Turnipseed Elkins.

Glenn's life was marked by a deep love for family, faith, and laughter. His infectious sense of humor could lift anyone's spirits, filling any room with joy. Glenn was a devout Christian. He loved the Lord and he cherished his time with his church family. Known for his creativity in the kitchen, Glenn loved cooking and baking, always experimenting with new recipes. He also found peace and purpose in nature, enjoying long walks, working in his yard, and spending time fishing.

He was preceded in death by his twin sister, Glennie Mae Elkins McClean; his sister, Sara Elkins Sanders; and his son, Michael Glenn Elkins. Glenn is survived by his wife Sylvia Elkins; sister, Sandra Elkins Martin; daughters Susan Hux (Lee) and Cynthia Palmer (Tom); grandchildren Brandon Burton (Tara), Megan Fuerte (Jaime), Ryan Elkins (Amanda), Kayla Elkins-Cooper (Justin), and Maggie Hux (Justin); great-grandchildren Morgan, Charleston, Dean, Nicolas, Annalise, and Julianna; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held at Spears Creek Baptist Church for family and close friends on Thursday July 3rd at 10:00.
