Gloria Carmen Hunt, 64, of Irmo, died Friday, November 20, 2015. Born in Columbia on February 10, 1951 she was a daughter of the late Betty Hornsby Phillips. Gloria retired from Mid Carolina Steel & Recycling after more than 20 years of service. She loved her family and friends dearly, and enjoyed gardening, traveling and spending time at her 2nd home in Folly Beach with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Harlon Michael Drew (Sonya) of Tookie Doo; a daughter, Robin Drew Clay (Kent) of Chapin; brothers, Terry Phillips (Patti) of Jacksonville, FL, Ray Phillips of Columbia; a sister, Helen Hudson of Columbia; grandchildren, Chet Drew, Harlon Drew, Levi Coogler, and Johnston Coogler; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held at 3 o'clock, Sunday, November 22nd at Gloria's home. Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Assoc., 10 E. 40th St., New York, NY10016-4110. Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, is assisting the family.
