Gloria B. Meadows, 62, of Elgin, died Friday, December 11, 2015. Born in Columbia, SC, she was the daughter of the late John and Edith Chavis Brown. Gloria was married to the late Douglas S. Meadows. She was a member of Harvest Baptist Church, and retired from The Boeing Company. She loved the mountains and enjoyed going on cruises.

Gloria is survived by her sons, Douglas (Angie) Meadows of Cassatt, Douglas Meadows of Elgin; daughter, Stephanie (Bryon) McClain of Elgin; grandsons, Trey (Carri) Meadows of Cassatt, Hunter Meadows of Cassatt; granddaughters, Rebecca and Ariel McClain of Elgin; sisters Johnnie (Bob) Crawford of Columbia, Linda Mathews of Lugoff; brothers, John (Barbara) Brown of Pelion, Walter (Iris) Brown of Blythewood, Billy (Debbie) Brown of Pelion; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister, Doris Wood.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 2 o'clock at Harvest Baptist Church, 281 Wildwood Lane, Lugoff. Burial will follow the service at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 15, 2015 from 6 until 8 o'clock at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road, Columbia.
