Obituary

Glycerene Southall, there's many words to describe how beautiful of a person she was. It's most definitely a blessing to have known her. With the kindness, love, and grace Glycerene bought into the room, no one can deny just how special she was. Her number one love in her life was Jehovah God and doing his will. Next to her deep love Jehovah she also made it known how much she loved her family and close friends. She was known for her love for food and her distinctive laugh.

Glycerene was born June 16, 1959, in Henderson, North Carolina to her deceased father and Aliceteen Ragland. She was 62 years old when she fell asleep in death at home with her family on February 6, 2022. She was the second born of 6 children: Glenn Ragland, Teresa Hargrove, Doris Greis, Joe Ragland, Jamie Ragland.
On December 19, 1988, she married the love of her life, Norman Southall. They shared each other's company for 10 years before he passed away in death on December 6, 1996. During their companionship they raised 3 children: (daughter) Tori Vaughn, (son) James Vaughn, and (son) Scott Southall. In addition, she also had spiritual children who she aided into the truth.

Glycerene was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witness 34 years ago on February 9, 1988. She expressed her loyal love for Jehovah by dedicating her time in the Pioneer work for over 25 years, teaching others to come to know her God, Jehovah. And she served with the Central Congregation, Clemson Road Congregation and shortly, the Chinese congregation all here in Columbia, South Carolina. She enjoyed her time being part of the Chinese congregation, especially when she had to take a two-day drive to Texas for the Chinese Convention with her sister and best friend, Doris.

Glycerene leaves to cherish her wonderful memories by her family members including her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, loving dear friends and spiritual brothers and sisters.

Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
