Obituary
Grace Reid Wood, 81, died January 3, 2021, after a brief hospital stay.
Mrs. Wood was born December 15, 1939 in Chester, South Carolina and was the wife of the late Walter Thomas Wood, Sr, her husband of 55 years. She is the daughter of the late Rodgers M. Reid and Cornelia W. Reid. She attended Erskine College and graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University. Mrs. Wood had a accomplished career as an ASID Interior Designer as well as being a caring homemaker. She maintained life long friendships from the numerous places she called home.
She is survived by her twin children, Terrilyn Grace Wood (Craig) of Columbia, SC and Walter Thomas "Tom" Wood, JR. (Susan) of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Whit Hensley, Grant Hensley and Lilly Hensley all of Columbia, Catherine Wood of Charlotte and Emily Wood of Columbia; and a sister Carolyn King (Kermit) of Columbia, SC.
The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Merrill Gardens of Columbia and Jessica Pugh for their loving care of Mrs. Wood. A private service will be held at Union ARP Church in Richburg, SC and will be officiated by Rev. Neely Gaston and Rev. Jerry Wells.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Union ARP Church, c/o David McKain, 1254 Silverbrook Road, Richburg, SC 29729.
