Obituary
Guy Earl Johnson, Sr., 63, of Ridge Spring, SC recently found peace and relief from his enduring suffering. Born December 31, 1955, in Pittsburgh, PA he was the first-born son of Susan Laura Johnson and the late Earl Arnie Johnson, Jr.
Guy loved flying and earned his private pilot's license at the young age of 13. He was an excellent marksman, craftsman, and built his own rifles and airplanes. Guy was no stranger to hard work and never did anything halfway.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Guy E. Johnson, Jr., wife, Elizabeth, and granddaughter Frances Margaret of Columbia, SC; sisters, Brenda Johnson Brigham and her husband, Mark, of Pittsburgh, PA, Beth Johnson Newton and her husband, Mark, of Jersey Shore, PA; a brother, Glenn Johnson of Pittsburgh, PA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Guy's life will be held Saturday, April 13, at 4:00 at the home of Guy and Elizabeth Johnson. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, Guy would have liked to continue honoring his nephew with memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
