Obituary
Gwendolyn Bigbee Lovell, 80 of Columbia, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2023. Born on September 6, 1942, in Salley, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late George Dewey Bigbee, Jr. and Margaret Gwendolyn Adams Bigbee.
Gwendolyn was the loving wife of 41 years to Jimmy Ray Lovell. She graduated from AC Flora High School with class of 1960. Gwendolyn was funny, strong-willed, and never afraid to show her appreciation towards others. Gwendolyn was an avid animal lover. In her free time, she enjoyed watching old movies, especially old westerns, and wrestling.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by stepson, LJ Davis (Tonya); brother, George Dewey Bigbee III; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, 2601 Forest Dr, Columbia, SC 29204.
