Hans D. Lail, 64, of Columbia, died Saturday, July 10, 2021, surrounded by his family. Born April 14, 1957, in Fulda, Germany, he is the son of Olin and Christina Rausch Lail. Hans lived life to the fullest each day and always did things in his unique way. He was an accomplished carpenter, working numerous years in the residential construction industry.

Surviving in addition to his parents of Columbia are his siblings, Dennis Fritz Lail (Shirley) of Columbia and Joann Lail Phillips (Benji) of Myrtle Beach. Hans is also survived by his beloved nieces and nephews, Crystal Schumacher (Jason), Sarah Lail, Adam Lail, Kristine Gorden, Michelle Kaliebe, Caleb Kaliebe, Mary Beth Dean (James), and Macie Lail, as well a multitude of great nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Church of St. Michael, Lohr Am Main, Bavaria, Germany. Final Commendation and Farewell prayers will be said in the churchyard. Hans will be laid to rest with his grandparents. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
