Harold Earl Crout, 93, of Columbia, died Monday, February 9, 2015. Born March 20, 1921, in Saluda County, he was a son of the late John Huey Crout and Velma Oxner Crout. Harold was a US Army Air Force veteran, having served in World War II. He worked with the Thomas Howard Company, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Reformation Lutheran Church.
Survivors include sons, Harold Marvin (Sharon) Crout of Bluffton, SC and Rick (Patricia) Crout of Columbia; his granddaughter, Jessica Crout; his grandson, Kelly (Melanie) Crout; and great grandchildren, Emi and Riley Crout. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene McKinney Crout.
The funeral service for Mr. Crout will be held 1 o'clock, Thursday, February 12th, at Reformation Lutheran Church, 1118 Union St, Columbia, with The Rev. Timothy L. Bupp officiating. The family will receive friends in the church parlor, prior to the service, beginning at noon. Members of the Wednesday Bible Study Class are invited to serve as honorary pallbearers. Burial will follow at Bush River Memorial Gardens. Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, is assisting the family.
