Harold Edward Mixon, 71, of Columbia, died Wednesday, September 17, 2014. Born in Darlington County, he was a son of the late Algie and Bertha Jeffords Mixon. Mr. Mixon worked with Allied Van Lines for over 40 years, and was a member of Columbia Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include his sisters-in-law, Daisy Mixon of Columbia, Nellie Mixon of West Columbia, and Doris Mixon of Gaston; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his brothers, Elvin, L.D., Clifton "Bud", and Gerald Mixon; sisters, Sally Mae Mixon, Mildred Tyner, Sarah Rambo and Betty O'Brien.

The memorial service for Mr. Mixon will be held 2 o'clock, Sunday, Sept. 21st, at Columbia Free Will Baptist Church, with The Rev. Earnest Barnes and The Rev. Richard Lyttleton officiating. Burial of the urn will follow at 4:30 pm, at Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Lamar, SC. The family will receive friends at the church, prior to the service, beginning at 1 o'clock.
