Harold Ray New, 53, of Chapin, died Monday, March 10, 2014. Born in Somerset, KY on October 6, 1960, he was a son of Emery Cecil New and Martha Morrow New. Harold Ray New was a veteran of the US Army and attended The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Dutch Fork Chapel.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra New; son, Christopher New of Austin, TX; daughters, Brandy (Mark) Marie of Vidor, TX, Shelly (Allen) Gage of Bridge City, TX, Felicia New of Vidor, TX. and Anna New of Columbia; sisters, Faye Thompson of Waco, TX, and Sheila New; brothers, Jerry (Gail) New, and Homer (Faye) New all of Oneonta, AL; grandchildren, Dylan, Kaelyn, Karsyn, Dalton, Blaine, Alana, Brylee, Korbyn, Ava, and Saige. In addition to his parents, Harold Ray New was preceded in death by son, Michael New; brothers, Marvin, Wendal, and James New; sisters, Wanda, Brandi, and Linda New.

A memorial service for Harold Ray New will be held at 11 o'clock, Thursday, March 13th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Dutch Fork Chapel, 7449 Broad River Road, Irmo, with President Robbie Bruno officiating.
