Ridgeway - Haskell Blizzard, 81, of Ridgeway died Thursday June 29, 2017 at his home. Mr. Blizzard was son of the late James Walter Blizzard and Jenney Drawdy Blizzard. After leading a successful career as an Automotive Mechanic at his company, Blizzards Automotive Service, he took pride in helping with mission work during disasters in his community and in Africa to serve people in need. Mr. Blizzard was an active member at Sandy Level Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Frances Jones Blizzard; a son, Don (Alice) Blizzard; daughter, Jacqueline Louise Moore; grandsons, Michael Paul Blizzard and Chris Moore; a granddaughter, Shannon Nicholer Clark (Chris); great grandchildren, Abraham and Hanna; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents Mr. Blizzard is preceded in death by brothers, Robert and Lester Blizzard, along with a sister, Thelma Sanders.

A funeral service for Mr. Blizzard will be held 11 o'clock Saturday, July 1st at Sandy Level Baptist Church with Dr. E. Benjamin Newman Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 8 o'clock at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia.
