Hazel Clayton Nickerson, 82, of Columbia, died Wednesday, June 25, 2014. Born in Salem, AR on October 27, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Cooper and Jo Isaphine Wells Cooper. Hazel was a loving mother and granny, and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her daughters, Dana Chandler of West Columbia, Judy Clayton of Camden, and Donna (Ed) Stanfield of Columbia; sisters, Jean (Jerry) Stephens of Little Rock, AR, Dianne (George) Ferrell of Loveland, CO; brother, James (Beth) Cooper of Winter Haven, FL; sister-in-law, Linda Cooper, of Salem, AR, brother-in-law, Jerry Hatman of Bryant, AR; grandchildren, Samantha (Ray) Walters, Sean (Jess) Chandler, Kevin (Alice) Chandler; nine grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, sisters, Novella Garrison, Williamet Griffith, and Donna Sue Hatman; brothers, Joe Cooper, Johnny Cooper.

The family will receive friends from 10 until 12 o'clock, Saturday, June 28th at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia.
