Mrs. Helen Marie Seefeld Gilbert, 95, of Columbia, died on Tuesday, October 16, 2012. Born on June 5, 1917, in Escanaba, MI, she was the daughter of the late Julius and Anna Anderson Seefeld.
Helen's life revolved around her family and faith. She loved participating in Bible Study and WELCA circles at church. She was the oldest living female member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Helen enjoyed traveling to visit family from California to Europe. She was a member of the National Honors Society at Escanaba HS in Escanaba, MI.
Survivors include her daughters, Loujean Marie Baker of Columbia, Raynette Louise Kempf (Dan) of Ann Arbor, MI, Marcia Anne Reynolds (Robert) of Haddam, CT; son, William Edward Gilbert (Ronda) of Costa Mesa, CA; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; four step-great-grand-children; one step great-great-grandchild; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Don Gilbert; brothers, Howard and Robert Seefeld; and son-in-law, Melvin Baker.
A memorial service for Mrs. Gilbert will be held at 3 o'clock, Tuesday, November 6th, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 3909 Forest Drive, Columbia. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service beginning at 2 o'clock.
