Helen Giles Kane, 93, of Columbia, died Saturday, March 10, 2018. Born in Dunn, North Carolina, on January 27, 1925, she was a daughter of the late William Henry and Lettie Lee Giles. Helen was an avid flower and vegetable gardener that loved to be outdoors. She was a long time and dedicated member of Capital City Baptist Church, where she had perfect attendance for many years.

Survivors include her sisters, Susan G. Warren and Linda G. Cashwell; a sister-in-law, Faye Giles; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as a special friend, Teresa Rose. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Stephen Kane, Sr.; a son, Henry Stephen Kane, Jr.; and siblings, Douglas Giles, Geraldine Cain, and Hazel McNeil.

The funeral service for Mrs. Kane will be held 2 o'clock, Friday, March 16th at Capital City Baptist Church, 2243 Percival Road, Columbia with The Rev. Paul Monroe officiating. Burial will follow at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1 o'clock. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
