Helen Kersey, 71, of Columbia, died on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. Born in Vidalia, GA, on August 13, 1953, she was a daughter of Vera Grace Roberts Hazelwinkel and the late Ray Kersey.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her stepmother, Loretta Kersey; brothers, Jack Kersey (Thea), Jim Kersey (Donna), and Joe Kersey (Paula); as well as a host of other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her father; step-father, Bill Hazelwinkle; and brother, Donald Kersey.

The graveside service for Ms. Kersey will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, April 4th, at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 7100 Garners Ferry Road, Columbia. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
