Henry David LeGrande, Sr., passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at his home in Elgin. David was born March 5, 1959, in Columbia, SC, a son of the late John W.A. LeGrande and the late Elsie Ruth Becknell LeGrande. He graduated from Spring Valley High School. He worked for Suddeth's Towing for years as a wrecker driver before delivering parts for Advanced Auto.

He is survived by one son, Henry David "DJ" LeGrande, Jr.; daughter, Katie LeGrande; the mother of his children, Betty Vesga; brother, Steve LeGrande; sisters, Karen LeGrande, Michelle (Keith) Hawkins, Susan (Alvin) Kelley and Gayle (Chuck) Steele; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Laurie Nicole LeGrande.

The graveside service for Mr. LeGrande will be held at 12 o'clock, Tuesday, July 18th at Jackson Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, 7778 Two Notch Rd, Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends beginning at 11 o'clock at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Leukemia Society.
