Herbert Richardson "Dickie" Davis, 70, of Lexington, passed at home Monday, December 16, 2013 surrounded by family and friends. Born in Columbia on July 23, 1943, he was a son of the late Daniel Bruce Davis and Saluda Bell Starnes Davis. "Dickie" attended the First Church of the Nazarene, was an avid Gamecock fan, and classic car collector.

Survivors include his daughter, Melissa Cutter and husband, Craig of West Columbia; son, Richard Davis of Gaston; brothers, Larry Davis and wife, Lois of Red Bank, Olin Davis and wife, Theresa of Chapin, and Dean Davis and wife, Sondra, of Chapin; sister, Carolyn Florence and husband, Hugh of West Columbia; grandchildren, Chase Cutter, Christa Davis and Thomas Davis.

A funeral service celebrating the life of "Dickie" Davis will be held at 11 o'clock, Friday, December 20th at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia with The Rev. Fred Hammond officiating. Interment will follow at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock, Thursday evening at the funeral home.
