Herbert Webster Sanders, Jr., 69, of Columbia, died Thursday, June 26, 2014. Born October 31, 1944 in Columbia, he was a son of the Herbert Webster Sanders, Sr., and the late Dorothy Mae Martin Moffet. Herbert loved his grandchildren dearly, and Nascar driver, Dale Earnhardt, Sr.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Graddick Sanders; daughters, Faith Butler of Columbia, Chrystal Taylor of Gaffney; son, Johnny Woodruff, Jr. of Columbia; his father, Herbert Webster Sanders, Sr.; brothers, Tommy (Vickie) Sanders of Columbia, and Sammy Sanders, of Columbia; grandchildren, Andrew Chauncey, Zackery Taylor, Alexis Duncan, Alley Lyles, and Layne Spencer; in addition to his mother, Herbert was preceded in death by an uncle, Dan Martin.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to SC Oncology Associates, Dr. Wise, and staff, especially, Missy, Teresa, and Ann.

The funeral service for Mr. Sanders will be held at 2 o'clock, Monday, June 30th at Shives Funeral Home, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia. Interment will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens.
