Herman Leo Morris, 88, of Columbia, died Wednesday, September 18, 2019. Born in Harrisburg, PA, on November 26, 1930, he was a son of the late Earnest P Morris and Viola Nye Morris. Herman proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and later worked for Blue Ridge Country Club in Linglestown, PA as the head Greenskeeper. In the 42 years that he spent working at Blue Ridge Country Club, he never took a day off. Herman loved to watch golf and the Atlanta Braves in his free time.

Survivors include his wife, Florence Ellen Morris; son, Alan Morris (Faith), of Lewisberry, PA; step-son, Bryan Keller (Barbara), of Columbia, SC; step-daughter, Wendy Beaston, of Orange City, FL; grandchildren, Heather, Jason, Jenifer, Brandon, Sara, Aaron, Abbe, and Amber; great-grandchildren, Amanda, Alan, Austin, Aiden, Damien, Alex, Aurora, Bear, Reese, and Sylvia; two sisters, Terri and Jeanette.

The funeral service for Mr. Morris will be held 1 o'clock, Monday, September 23, 2019 at Capital City Baptist Church, 2243 Percival Road, Columbia, SC, with Pastor Paul Monroe officiating. Burial with military honors will follow the service in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service beginning at 12 o'clock. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
