A graveside service for Irene Huffman Prince, 89, of Columbia, will be held at 10 o'clock Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road Lexington. Shives Funeral Home is assisting the famiy. Memorials may be made to Agape Senior, Kathwood, 4520 Trenholm Road, Columbia, SC 29206.
Ms. Prince died, Wednesday, September 19, 2012. Born in Columbia on April 6, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Jacob Haskell Huffman and Eunice Alberta Starnes. Devoting herself to her family she loved bingo was a lifelong bowler and of course had a flair for style. She will be remembered for Christmas gatherings at Mama's/Granmother Irene's. After 36 years she retired from Motors Insurance Corporation (a division of General Motors) as well as spending nearly 20 years working for the Jamil Shrine Temple Circus.
Survivors include, a daughter, Wynnette Prince (Ted) Fetner of York, PA and Columbia; sons, William H. (Sandy) Prince of Blythewood, Beiman O. "Bemo" (JoAnn) Prince of Irmo; daughters, Stanlee Prince (Dale) Morrison of Myrtle Beach, Edythe E. Prince of Columbia; grandchildren, William T. "Ted" Fetner, Jr. of South Orange, NJ, Ann Fetner Weidner of Columbia, Allyson Fetner Ayres of Lancaster, PA, Bonnie Prince Counts of Blythewood, William H. "Bill" Prince, Jr. of Blythewood, Kayce Lynn Prince of Blythewood, Lisa Prince Harper of Columbia, Angela C. Prince of Columbia, Dane K. Morrison of Myrtle Beach, Dustin S. Morrison of Myrtle Beach, Aubree L. Morrison of Myrtle Beach, Zachary M. "Zach" Prince of Charleston. In addition to her parents, Ms. Prince was preceded in death by her lifelong friend, Beiman Otis Prince, Sr.; a grandson, Beiman Otis "Trey" Prince III; brothers, Jacob Haskell Huffman, Jr. and James H. Huffman; sisters, Edith Huffman Parker, Alice Alberta Huffman and Barbara Jean "Bobbie Jean" Huffman.
