Iris Jewell Warren Thompson, 87, of Columbia, died Wednesday, April 20, 2016. Born May 2, 1928 in Batesburg, SC, she was a daughter of the late Milton and Cornelia Warren. Mrs. Thompson was a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church, where she served on a number of committees and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was a master seamstress and smocker and was well-known throughout the community for her work. Iris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her children, Angela Isler, Rebecca Thompson Haner (Tom) and Paul Thompson (Tina); four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fern Thompson; granddaughter, Jennifer Marvikiotis; siblings, Loyce, Martin, and David Warren.

The funeral for Mrs. Thompson will be held 11 o'clock, Saturday, April 23rd, at Rehoboth United Methodist Church with The Pastor Douglas Benton officiating. Interment will follow at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock, Friday evening, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road, Columbia. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Rehoboth United Methodist Church, 6911 Two Notch Road, Columbia, SC 29223.
