Obituary

Irmgard Bertha Miller, 92, of Columbia, died Tuesday, July 13, 2021. Born June 12, 1929, in Heidelberg, Germany, she was a daughter of the late George Michael and Wilhelmina Klingenfuss Kuecherer.

Mrs. Miller was the matriarch of her family. She dedicated her life to being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and hosting special occasions for family and friends. Mrs. Miller routinely crocheted and knitted gifts. It brought her great joy to share these handmade items with everyone she knew. Mrs. Miller will be remembered for her beautiful personality and her ability to make lasting friendships wherever she was.

Survivors include her sons, Tim Miller, Jr. (Pamela), Richard Stanley Miller (Helen), and Daniel Miller (Deborah); daughter, Linda Mathis; grandchildren, Monica Miller, Robyn Rowe (John), Ashely Goodacker (Keith), Kelly Kirven (Matt), Molly Bowman (Ryan); five great-granddaughters and four great-grandsons; as well as her sister, Erika Vorgeitz (Karl). In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Tim Miller; son, Frederick Tommy Miller; son-in-law, Terry Mathis; as well as her sisters, Inge, Mina, and Elsa.

The graveside service for Mrs. Miller will be held 11 o'clock Saturday, July 17th, at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens, 2603 Two Notch Road, Columbia, SC 29204. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
