Jack Cyril McCall, 95, of Fort Pierce, FL, passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. Born on July 28, 1926, in Hendersonville, NC, he was the son of the late Robert and June Dill McCall. Jack was a member of Hendersonville First Church of Nazarene and Central Assembly of God in Vero Beach, FL.
Jack was the loving husband of 72 years to Vivian Johnson McCall. He was an avid, self-taught steel guitar player and in the early 60s, recognized as the #1 guitarist in the state of Florida. His family remembers him as being a loving, encouraging man. He greeted everyone with open arms and a smile on his face. He was a wonderful, devoted father who took pride in raising his sons. Mr. McCall proudly served in the US Navy and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal. He later went on to have a successful career as an electrician.
Survivors include son, Donald E. McCall Sr. (Angel R. McCall); grandchildren, Donald E. McCall Jr. (Dana), Sandra R. McCall, Teresa L. Blair (Jonathan), Frank J. Moshier Jr. (Colleen); great-grandchildren, Kyle R. Hasenzahl, Donald E. McCall III, Isabella M. Moshier, Elle E. Moshier, and Aidan F. Moshier; nieces and nephews, Mr. Ronald and Patsy Gregory, Peggy Mitchell, Brenda Brown, and Mrs. Carol in Ashville. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by son, William A. McCall.
The funeral service for Mr. McCall will be held at 1 o'clock on Friday, January 28th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext Columbia, SC 29223. The family will receive friends an hour prior at visitation. Interment to follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road Columbia, SC 29229.
