Jacob Alan Ladd

Jacob Alan Ladd, 24, of Blythewood and most recently of Conway, SC, died on July 12, 2026. Born in Alexandria, LA, on May 12, 2002, he was the son of Dr. Ricky Alan and Erin Leigh Dickinson Ladd. He was the husband of Hannah Lyric Stone.

Jacob lived his life with an open heart and an infectious smile. A talented athlete, he shared his passion and competitive spirit on the baseball field. After graduating from Blythewood High School in 2020, he earned a baseball scholarship to the University of South Carolina Sumter. Most recently, Jacob completed his Utility Electrical Lineman certification. He joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) in Charleston and was later called to Michigan to begin his career.

Jacob was a faithful follower of Christ. He displayed his faith daily through his endless acts of kindness and love for others. He was a witness to others by sharing his testimony.

Jacob had a heart of gold and loved his family and friends with all his heart.

In addition to his parents, Jacob is survived by his wife, Hannah Lyric Stone; sister, Victoria Elizabeth Ladd; brother, Joshua Thomas Ladd; paternal grandmother, Delores Ladd; maternal grandfather, Robert H. “Sonny” Dickinson; maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Frye (Mimi); aunts and uncles, Marty Wayne Ladd (Cindy), Cathy Ladd, Tanya Wheeler, Tracy Brick (Morgan) and Cheri Dickinson Lewis (Ben); as well as cousins, Lindsey, Sydney, Wesley, Ramsey, Lacey, Kelsey, Skyler, Madison, Peyton, Ashton, Bella and Brice.

He was preceded in death by his Grandparents Ernest Ladd and Clara “Scottie” Dickinson; and uncles, Richie Winter, Kenny Ladd and Robert Dickinson, Jr.

The funeral service for Jacob will be held at 2 o’clock, Sunday, July 19th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, with Apostle James Armstrong officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Rd, Lexington. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 o’clock, Saturday, July 18th, at Shives Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Joshua Thomas Ladd, Sonny Brice Dickinson, Morgan Ashton Brick, Dr. Lindsey Michael Ladd, Wesley Ryan Ladd, and Skyler Allen Wheeler.
