Obituary

Elgin: Jacqueline A. Davis, 80, of Elgin, died Monday, March 23, 2015. Born in Baltimore, MD on October 17, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Silas W. Bull, Sr. and Ethel Marie Bull. She was member of Midway Methodist Church, and retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield after 27 years of service. Active with the BCBS softball team, she was known for her great love of God, family, friends, children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her sons, Fred Turbeville of Elgin, Greg Turbeville of Columbia; grandchildren, Sabrina (Marc) Reeves of Jacksonville, FL, Amanda (Curt) Coleman of Irmo, Rebecca Turbeville of Elgin, Sara Turbeville of Gaston, Ryan Turbeville of Columbia; nine great-grandchildren; as well as seven nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Davis; brothers, Ernest R. Fortney, Jr., Robert W. Fortney, Silas W. Bull, Jr.; and sister, Nancy M. Nace.

The funeral service for Mrs. Davis will be held at 3 o'clock, Thursday, March 26th at Midway Methodist Church with The Rev. Jerry Hacker officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1 o'clock. Memorials may be made to Midway Methodist Church, 8481 Old Percival Road, Columbia, SC 29223. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
