Jacqueline Phoebe Ward Kelly, 97, of Elgin, died Tuesday, December 24, 2019. Born April 13, 1922 in Palatka, FL she was a daughter of the late Perry and Margaret Platt Ward.
Ms. Kelly worked for the Elgin Watch Company and retired from the Bendix Corporation. She was a creative person who loved to draw, crochet and sew, even without a pattern. Ms. Kelly squirrelled away sweets for a rainy day and was known to NOT have a filter when she spoke. She was a Member of the Blythewood Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Survivors include her children, Wendall A. Kelly, Michael L. Kelly, Lynn Kelly-Crouch (Martin) and William E. Kelly; grandchildren, Hayden Kelly Crouch, Blythe Coulter Kelly, Christopher M. Kelly (Kim), Chase M. Crouch (Ashley Floyd); step grandchildren, Chrystal M. Williams and Gene Matherly, Hailey Shay Kelly Williams and Lee Williams; step-great-grandchildren, Logan and Lindsay; as well as her "adopted" daughter, Bobbi Goodman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers.
A funeral service will be held 1 o'clock, Thursday, January 2nd, at Greenhaven Preserve, 1701 Vanboklen Road, Eastover, with Pastor Charles G. Young officiating. The family will receive friends following the burial. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
