James Edward Broach, Sr., 79, of Blythewood, died on Saturday, June 5, 2021. Born in Lake City, SC, on October 6, 1941, he was a son of the late Robert and Janie Lynch Broach. Mr. Broach was a member of North Columbia Church of God. He enjoyed fishing and collecting antiques, especially Oil Lamps and cars. He was known as "Coach Broach" on the baseball field where he enjoyed coaching his sons.
Survivors include his sons, James Edward Broach, Jr., (Lisa), Robert Darren Broach (Karen); grandchildren, Robert Erin Broach, Ashley Broach Collins (Patrick), Candace Brazell (Scott), Savanah Broach, James S. Broach, Matthew Rowell, Jacob Rowell, (fiancé, Amanda Brown), David Edwards, April Edwards; great-grandchildren, Trinity, Payton, Alex, Brooklyn, McCoy, Ally, Braxton, David, Lacey, JJ, and Sadie; sisters, Leona, Annette and Berry Jean Broach; and a brother, Levon Broach. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Broach.
The funeral service for Mr. Broach will be held at 2 o'clock, Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at North Columbia Church of God, 1004 Lorick Rd, Blythewood, SC with Bishop Ossie Deese officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens of Columbia. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church beginning at 1 o'clock. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
