James "Jim" Allen Crockett, Jr. 76, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Born August 10, 1944, in Charlotte, NC, he was son of the late James Allen Crockett and Elizabeth Eversole Crockett.

While Jim was known and loved by many for his contributions to the wrestling community, his family best knew him as a devoted husband, loving father, and adoring grandfather. Jim was happiest cooking for his family and friends and enjoying the company of those who loved him so much. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy and his care and commitment to them were immeasurable, as is their love for him. We are forever grateful for his steadfast presence in all of our lives. He was always there for us.

Jim is survived by his wife of 37 years, Myra Boyle Crockett; son, James "Jace" Allen Crockett, III and wife Carrie of Lynchburg, VA; daughter, Austin Gawler and husband Travis of Columbia, SC; daughter, Chandler Pryor and husband David of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Elizabeth Crockett, Hudson and Finley Gawler, Lucy and Hayes Pryor; sister, Frances Crockett; brother, David Crockett and wife Valerie; brother, Jackie Crockett and wife Ruthy; nieces, Debbie Ringley, Lisa Moon, Betsy Rountree, Julie Dalton; nephews, Jimmy Ringley, Ron Ringley, Chip Crockett, and Mark Crockett; and special friends Dan and Kay Stone.

A celebration of life will be held 3 o'clock, Friday, August 27th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC. A livestream of the service can be seen on the Shives Funeral Home website.
