Mr. James Edward Entzminger, 62, of Elgin, died Tuesday, August 11, 2015. Born in Columbia on April 9, 1953, he was a son of the late Colie H. Entzminger and Estelle Cook Entzminger. He was raised in Blythewood and attended school there. Edward retired from the South Carolina Department of Corrections.

Edward is survived by his wife of 15 years, Marlene King Entzminger; sons, Jamie Entzminger (Melissa) and Jason Entzminger (Christy); five grandchildren; step-children, Tonya and Chip Gardner; and sister, Lula Trapp. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, James, Rebecca, Dorothy, Elizabeth, Laura, and John William.

The funeral service for Mr. Entzminger will be held Friday, August 14th, at 3 o'clock, at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Thursday evening, from 6 until 8 o'clock. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210.
