Mr. James Vaughn Gillis' Obituary
James Vaughn "Jimmy" Gillis, Sr., 54, of Lexington, died Wednesday, October 31, 2012. Born February 17, 1958 in Columbia, he was a son of the late Joseph Johnson Gillis, Jr. and Betty Gaines Gillis Shorter. He was employed with Palmetto Precast and was a member of First Baptist Church of Anderson.
Survivors include his wife, Carol B. Gillis; his sons, James Vaughn Gillis, Jr., Joseph Palmer Gillis; brothers, Joe Gillis, and JJ Gillis.
A memorial service for Mr. Gillis will be held at 11 o'clock, Monday, November 5, 2012 at Shives Funeral Home, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia with Chaplain Clay Summers officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
