Obituary

James "Jamie" Kenneth Hamilton, II, 48, of Columbia, died Monday, March 8, 2021. Born September 01, 1972, in Clinton, SC, he was a son of the Rev. James Kenneth Hamilton, Sr. and Christine Holcombe Hamilton.

Jamie was a charismatic and very loving person. When you spoke with him, you knew you were the center of his attention. Jamie was a devoted husband and loved his family immensely. He was a member of Northeast Presbyterian Church, where he served as a Deacon and formerly sang in the choir. Jamie volunteered his time coaching football and baseball for the Spring Valley Youth Sports program. He was also a volunteer statistician for Airport High School athletics. Jamie was Ford Mustang enthusiast and event coordinator for the SC Wild Horses Mustang Club. He enjoyed driving his Mustang, trips to the mountains and beach, and cheering on the South Carolina Gamecocks. "GO GAMECOCKS!"

In addition to his parents of Laurens, SC; he is survived by his wife, Jennifer L. Hamilton; sisters, Christina "Tina" Smith (Keith) and Johnna LeGrand Zambrono (Agustin); mother-in-law, Barbara O. Lewis (Carl T. Platts, Sr.); sister-in-law, Stephanie Lewis Beer (Brian); nieces and nephews, Brittany Hazel, Kristen Amber LeGrand, Andrew LeGrand (Clarissa), Emory Beer, Ben Smith, and Glen Beer; his "Best Buddy", Deuce the Jack Russell; as well as numerous extended family and friends. Jamie was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Stephen Andrew Lewis.

A funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock, Saturday March 13th at Northeast Presbyterian Church, 601 Polo Rd, Columbia, SC with Pastor Josh Desch officiating.

For those unable to attend, a livestream of the service will be available on Jamie's tribute page at ShivesFuneralHome.com. All are invited to attend; however, masks and social distancing are required to create a safe environment for all.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Northeast Presbyterian Church or the charity of one's choice.
