Funeral services for James "Jimmie" Edward Rayfield, will be held at 2 o'clock, on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at New Heights Church. Burial will follow at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1 o'clock at the church. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Heights Church, 5501 Broad River Rd., Columbia, SC, 29212.

Mr. Rayfield was born on October 29, 1966, In Columbia, and was the son of the late Edward Rayfield and Carolyn Rae Watson Rayfield. He grew up in Columbia and was a graduate of Columbia High School. A devoted and faithful member of New Heights Church, formerly Colonial Heights Baptist Church, Jimmie loved spending time with his family, church family, and friends watching movies or college football. Mr. Rayfield was a loyal and dedicated employee at Publix and a former employee of Piggly Wiggly.

Survivors include his sister, Carolyn M. Rayfield of Columbia, SC, along with numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Jimelle McCabe Watson, as well as Lord Aaron and Agnes Glisson Rayfield.
