James Ronald "Jim" Sitton, 77, passed away February 8, 2016 at his home in Blythewood, South Carolina. He was born on December 26, 1938 in Columbia, South Carolina to Victor and Helen Sitton.

Jim joined the Army in 1956 and married Judy, his wife for 57 years, in 1959.
He started his career in the sheet metal industry at Delay & Daniels and later started his own business which is now family owned and operated. His main goal was to always provide for his family.

His greatest passion was his love for horses, especially on the track. He also loved the Wild Wild West and anything concerning John Wayne. The family often said he was born in the wrong era and should have been a cowboy. Jim enjoyed living on his land in Blythewood with all his family and riding his favorite horse, Red.

He was especially proud of both his sons, but was devastated at their passing: James Brian Sitton, deceased January 9, 2006, and Victor Ronald Sitton, deceased July 12, 2015. They are now reunited and celebrating in heaven.

Jim is survived by his wife, Judy Brooks Sitton; daughters, Gena Banks (Greg) and Carisa Buff (Billy); eleven grandchildren, Aaron Banks, Justin Sitton, Hayden Banks, Brandon Sitton, Cody Sitton, Brett Sitton, Cassy Buff, Brittany Buff, Lakin Sitton, William Buff and Jamie Buff; brother, Victor Lee Sitton; sister, Anne Sitton Campbell. In addition to his parents and sons, he was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Sitton.

The family will receive family and friends at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia, on Wednesday, February 10th from 5 until 7 o'clock. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Thursday, February 11th at 2o'clock with The Rev Chris Hanley and Dr. E Benjamin Newman, Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park following the service.
