James Arthur Wymer, 69, of Ridgeway, died Wednesday, June 19, 2013. Born December 16, 1943, in Richland County, he was a son of the late Eugene and Verlie Marsh Wymer. He owned a small engine repair shop and was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Maggie Lee Wymer; daughters, Angie Wymer of Greenville, Terrie Wymer of Blythewood, and Rachel Harper of Pontiac; son, Arlie Harper of Pontiac; brothers, Ned (Barbara) Wymer and Amos (Sandy) Wymer, all of Elgin, Jerry Wymer of Spokane, WA, Albert Wymer of Seattle, WA and Walter Wymer of Lee County; sisters, Violet Wymer of Greenville and Betty Jean Wymer of Irmo; as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by two sisters.

A memorial service for Mr. Wymer will be held 3 o'clock, Saturday, June 22nd, at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Dr, Columbia, with The Rev. Amos Hann officiating. The family will greet friends prior to the service beginning at 2 o'clock.
