Jane Alan Gibbes Kapp, 75, of Columbia, died on Tuesday, August 24, 2021. Born in Columbia, SC, July 13, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Louis LeConte and Caroline Blanche Cudd Gibbes.
Jane Alan was a graduate of Dreher High School in Columbia and Mount Vernon College in Washington, D.C. She was a member of the Junior League, the Assembly, the Pine Tree Hunt Club, and the Society of Colonial Dames.
Survivors include her husband, Lloyd M. Kapp; daughter, Mason Kapp; son, Lloyd M. Kapp, Jr.; grandchildren, Jane Alan Mason Kapp and Suzanne Verigood Kapp. She is also survived by her siblings Leila Gibbes Williams (Kit), Louis LeConte Gibbes Jr. (Lynn) , George Felder Gibbes (Ethel), and Elizabeth Gibbes deLoach (John), and sister-in-law Janie Kapp Timmons (Joe), brothers-in-law John Michael Kapp (Bonnie), Thomas Little Kapp (Helen), and Woodman Crane Kapp (Cindy). In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert P. Kapp, Jr. (Mary Price).
The service for Mrs. Kapp will be held at 3 o'clock, Monday, August 30th, at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 1100 Sumter St, Columbia, SC. A private burial will precede the service in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 o'clock, Saturday afternoon August 28th at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia.
