Janet H. Hatchell, 83, of Elgin, died on Thursday, January 11, 2024. Born in Columbia, SC, on June 29, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Laverne Hinnant, Sr. and Lucille Smith Hinnant. Mrs. Hatchell attended Rehoboth United Methodist Church and was a loving homemaker. She was employed for 9 years with American Greeting Cards and 12 years with Walmart.

Survivors include her husband, Richard L. Hatchell, Sr.; sons, Richard L. Hatchell, Jr., David W. Hatchell and Charles L. Hatchell; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and brother, Thomas L. Hinnant, Jr.

The service for Mrs. Hatchell will be held at 11 o'clock, Saturday, February 10th, at Rehoboth United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
