Janice Marie Black, 74, of Columbia, South Carolina, passed away on June 19, 2026. Born on October 9, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Rubin Cornelius Black and Martha Elizabeth Redmond Black.
Janice will be remembered for her kind heart and her nurturing spirit. She had a natural gift for caring for others and found joy in offering support, encouragement, and compassion to those around her. Her gentle presence and generous nature left a lasting impression on family, friends, and all who knew her.
She retired from Wells Fargo Bank after many years of dedicated service. Outside of work, Janice enjoyed traveling and making memories through new experiences. In her younger years, she loved taking cruises and seeking adventure, including a memorable trip to a dude ranch. She embraced opportunities to explore the world with curiosity and enthusiasm.
As the youngest of five children, Janice shared a special bond with her family throughout her life. She is survived by her sister, Belinda Black Hollis (Jim), along with many loving relatives and dear friends who will cherish her memory.
Though she will be deeply missed, Janice’s legacy of kindness, compassion, and caring for others will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
