Mrs. Janice Wright Ward was called by her Heavenly Father to her eternal home on Tuesday, December 16, 2025. Mrs. Ward was born on October 5, 1941, in Randolph County, North Carolina to the late Woodrow and Merle VonCannon Wright.

She faithfully served as Church Pianist for the churches her husband pastored in the SC Conference of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church for over 50 years as well as faithfully serving in other positions in church leadership. She loved gardening and was especially proud of her beautiful roses and winning yard of the month. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and her new great granddaughter who all affectionately called her Nana.

She is survived by her children; sons, R. Glen Ward, Jr., Mark L. Ward, Reverend Hugh D. Ward (Kelly); daughter, Lisa W. Davis (Stan); as well as six grandchildren, Robert Glen (Trey) Ward, III (Katie), Emily R. Price (Houston), Kristen M. Ward, S. Evan Davis (Savanna), Jenna L. Davis, and A. Mackenzie Ward; and one great grandchild, Merritt H. Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, the late Reverend Robert G. Ward, Sr.

A service of worship honoring the life of Mrs. Ward will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, at 3 o'clock at Shives Funeral Home Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Extension, Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
