Mrs. Janie Mae McClerklin- Myers, 80, of Columbia, SC, transitioned Monday, January 16th, 2023. Janie Mae was born to Mrs. Juanita and Mr. Willie McClerklin on November 24th, 1942 in Columbia.

Mrs. Janie was an educator and worked in Richland School District One for over 30 years. She later became a volunteer coordinator for the school district. She then became a licensed medical assistant and was head of the medical facility at the department of corrections. Janie was one of twelve founding members and a mother of Refuge Temple Church in Columbia (COOLJC) for over 30 years. She was a Sunday School Teacher, a member of the Ministers and Deacons Wives Guild, a Prayer Line counselor, a missionary, and served a term as Sunday School Superintendent. Mrs. Janie was a true prayer warrior and a true mother to the Church. She will be remembered for her "tell you like it is" attitude and for not sparing the tough love when needed. Mrs. Janie was a mother to all and will be deeply missed by all her friends and family.

Mrs. Janie Mae McClerklin-Myers is survived by her sons, Dr. Robert Myers, Reginald Myers, Thomas Myers, Timothy Myers, and Jason Myers; her four brothers; her four sisters; many grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She Myers is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
