Jay R. Paxton, 92, passed away on June 22, 2017. He was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California. Upon graduating high school, he served in the Army Air Corp during World War II and was a B-17 mechanic stationed in England.
After he graduated from college, he worked as a banker in several banks in Southern California. He eventually became manager and then vice president of Bank of A. Levy in Simi Valley CA.
Jay enjoyed working in his yard, water skiing, working on car engines, and traveling in his motorhome.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Paxton; daughter, Jan Ford (Tim) of Columbia; son, John Paxton (Christina) of Roseville CA; grandchildren, Ted Ford (Ronee) of Columbia, Carson Paxton, Garrett Paxton and Reagan Paxton, all of Roseville, CA.
Jay will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 13th from 3 until 7 o'clock at his daughter's home. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
