Jaynie Norris Boney

Jaynie Norris Boney, 76, widow of S. Gregory Boney, died on Saturday, September 26, 2026. Born in Charlotte, NC, on January 27, 1950, she was a daughter of the late Earl Jay Norris, Sr. and Elizabeth “Betty” Morris Norris. Mrs. Boney was raised in the Charlotte and Gastonia areas and spent her career in healthcare where she worked at Fairfield Memorial Hospital, Richland Memorial Hospital and later Dr.’s Care Clinics. She enjoyed home projects particularly being in her yard surrounded by flowers.

Survivors include her daughter, Melissa Cooper; grandson, Justin Greider; brothers, Earl “Jay” Norris, Jr. (Lynn) and Tommy “Tom” Charles Norris (Kathy); brother-in-law, Jerry Clark; sister-in-law, Donna Raines (Brian); and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Lisa Clark; and a niece.

The graveside service for Mrs. Boney will be held at 11 o’clock, Saturday, October 3rd, at Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery, 408 Blythewood Road, Blythewood. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
