Jeanette Suttles Fogle died peacefully in her home on July 4, 2022, after a short battle with cancer. Born in Charlotte, NC, she was the daughter of the late Kitty M. Ehrlich and Grover Suttles. Jeanette was a resident of Columbia, SC.

Jeanette was married to Harold E. Fogle. Jeanette & Harold were enjoying retirement with their fur babies Bruce Willis and Trouble. Before retirement Jeanette was the founder and owner of The Friends Club on Decker Boulevard. She enjoyed hosting all of her "Friends" and family for any and every celebration. She was the life of the party! Always generous, she had an open-door policy for anyone who needed a helping hand. It was not unusual for her and Harold to have new house guests whenever they found a friend in need of a place to stay. Everyone became part of their family. In her home you would find hundreds of pictures displayed of her family who was her world. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Jeanette only had 2 rules during her retirement, she had to home Monday-Friday at 1:00 to watch "Days" and at 5:00 to watch her favorite show "The Five". Even during her lowest points at the hospital and at home she wanted a clock in front of her, so she didn't miss her stories.

Jeanette enjoyed music, gatherings with her family, trips to the beach and an occasional trip to little River to test out her luck. She was thankful and selfless and found great joy in helping others. A loving wife, mother, sister, and friend, she was happiest surrounded by family and friends.

Jeanette is survived by her husband, Harold Fogle; Daughters, Deborah B. Rutland. (Andy) and Deanna M. Kilgore (Jack); grandchildren, Rachel B. Hinson (Alan), Laura R. Dorn (Dillon), and Zachary A. Kilgore. She is also survived by Brother Randy Kornegay (Sharon) of Eastover.

6 years ago, Jeanette discovered that she had brothers and sisters by her estranged father. She has enjoyed a short but loving relationship with her new family, and they brought a lot of happiness into her life. She is predeceased by Brothers: Franklin Suttles, Donnie Suttles and sisters Vivian Suttles and Vera Suttles. She is survived by Sisters Linda Suttles Crouse, Grovetta Suttles Roberts and Clara Sue Suttles and brothers Manley Josiah Suttles (Teresa) and Grover Suttles Jr. She is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Harold, Deb & Dee would like to thank Dr. Richard H McCarroll, Michelle O'Hara, NP, and all the Nursing staff and assistants on the PCU floor of Prisma Baptist Health Hospital for the compassionate care they provided her.

We would also like to thank the Prisma Hospice Service staff and Nurse Jennifer and "J" our aide. They were so helpful, friendly, and just so loving and caring. You will always be special to us.

The memorial service for Mrs. Fogle will be held at 2 o'clock on Saturday, July 9th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1 o'clock.
