Mr. Jeffery Mark Reed, 54, of Columbia, died Saturday, October 17, 2015. Born on March 3, 1961 in Wurtzburg, Germany, he was a son of the late William Walter Reed and Jessie Ruth Smith Reed. A dedicated worker as an engineer in the hotel business, he traveled the United States selecting sites for hotels. He was a regional manager for Davidson Development Hotels, Inc. Jeffery loved spending time outdoors, and he especially enjoyed fishing. He loved children and was a devoted father, and a wonderful brother and uncle. Jeffery will be remembered for his dedication to his church, and for the way he lived out his faith each day.

Jeffery is survived by a son, Hunter William Reed (Amanda) of Columbia; daughter, Jessie Ruth Reed of Louisville, KY; brother, William Michael Reed (Ann) of Gulfport, MS; sisters, Beverly Reed (Bob) of Columbia, and Ellen Cauley (Robert) of Greensboro, NC; nieces, Regina Reed (William) and their children, Alexis, Jayson and Chase of Columbia, and Tabitha Armstrong (Mike) of Greensboro, NC; as well as five other brothers, nephews, nieces, their children and special friend, Mary Rummell.

A memorial service will be held at 7 o'clock, Wednesday, October 21st, at The Free Will Baptist Church, 1230 South Kilbourne Rd., Columbia, with Pastor Earnest Barnes officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
