Jerry Charlotte Howard Kennedy, 75, of Columbia, died Saturday, October 26, 2019. Born August 7, 1944 in Richmond, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Marvin E. Howard and Ozella Taylor Howard.

Mrs. Kennedy was very active at First Baptist Church, teaching the children's choir and involved with the adult choir. Jerry also served as a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed decorating and working with flowers and plants; and loved her grandchildren. Jerry was a registered nurse who taught at Midlands Technical College and the University of South Carolina.

Survivors include her spouse, Rashie Kennedy, Jr.; son, Randall Joel Kennedy; daughter, Julia Kennedy Allen (Edward); grandchildren, Elisabeth, Victoria, Benjamin, Isabella, Shelby, Katie, and Payton; and sister, Martha Narron. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

The service for Mrs. Kennedy will be held 4:00 o'clock, Thursday, October 31st, at Boyce Chapel of First Baptist Church with The Rev. Richard Humphries officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 1306 Hampton Street, Columbia, SC 29201.
